Just over a year ago, First National Bank of Coffee County (FNBCC) introduced a new collection of debit cards that would benefit local schools. New and existing customers of FNBCC can now request a School Spirit Check Card featuring one of three Coffee County schools.  Each time a customer uses the School Spirit Check Card to make a debit or credit purchase, FNBCC will make a donation back to the school.

Recently, the Coffee County School System, Citizens Christian Academy, and the South Georgia College Foundation all received a check from FNBCC as a result of this great program. Each school was guaranteed a minimum of $1,000 for the initial year of participation, $0.03 per debit (PIN) transaction, and $0.06 per credit (signature) transaction each year thereafter. Results were analyzed and the South Georgia College Foundation received a $1,000 check for their participation in the program. Citizens Christian Academy received a check for $1,194.01 and the Coffee County School System received an impressive $4,718.67 for their participation. Each school will make individual decisions on how to use the funds and allot their awards to areas they best see fit.

There are several cards to choose from including the CHS Trojan Card, the CCA Patriot Card, and the South Georgia State College Tiger Card, and there is no cost to customers to sign up. Cards must be associated with a FNBCC checking account, and there are several checking account options to choose from including the free “Tuned In” student checking account that offers additional features for students.

“FNBCC is committed to our local schools and community,” said Sarah Brown, Marketing Officer & Mortgage Lender for FNBCC.  “We’re excited to help our valued customers support their favorite school. This is one way we are able to give back to this wonderful community that we all call home.”
