Over the past few weeks, 7th grade self-contained has been studying vertebrates and how they are identified. Students have learned the various characteristics to distinguish between the different groups of vertebrates.
Thanks to Mr. Robert Preston, the subject of vertebrates was brought to life by allowing the students to view and interact with two snakes and one lizard: a ball python, a rainbow boa, and a savannah monitor. Students answered comprehensive questions identifying the animals as reptiles and classifying them as vertebrates.
Here, Mr. Preston displays the rainbow boa with a few of the students and CMS staff.
