Two arrested on trafficking charges following chase in Bacon County

On Friday, February 10, 2023, officers with the Alma Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop with a vehicle on Perkins Street. The driver, George Tonyaka Sailem, 38 of Alma, GA, refused to stop and led officers on a vehicle pursuit that ended in a wooded area behind an abandoned residence on N. Worth St. Sailem crashed the vehicle into the woods and fled on foot for a short distance. Officers were able to apprehend Sailem and placed him under arrest. A passenger of the vehicle, Paige Nicole Wade, 33 of Alma, GA, was also arrested at the scene of the accident. 

 

 

During the search of the vehicle, officers located approximately 50 Hydrocodone pills, 1 gram of cocaine, 7.8 ounces of molly (MDPV/methylone), 4.1 ounces of methamphetamine, 5.9 ounces of cocaine, 1 ounce of fentanyl, 1 handgun and over $6,500 in cash. 

 

 

Sailem was taken to the Bacon County Hospital due to a minor injury and was cleared by hospital staff. Sailem was transported to the Bacon County Detention Center where he was processed and booked for several traffic violations including Fleeing/Attempting to Elude Officers, Driving Under the Influence and Possession of Cocaine, Possession of a Firearm/Knife during the Commission of a Crime, Possession of a Controlled Substance (pills), Trafficking of Methamphetamine or Amphetamine (Meth), Trafficking of Methamphetamine or Amphetamine (MDPV/Methylone), Trafficking Morphine, Opium, or Heroin (Fentanyl), Trafficking Cocaine.

 

 

Wade was transported to the Bacon County Detention Center following the incident and has been processed and booked for Trafficking of Methamphetamine or Amphetamine (Meth), Trafficking of Methamphetamine or Amphetamine (MDPV/Methylone), Trafficking Morphine, Opium, or Heroin (Fentanyl), Trafficking Cocaine.

 

 

Chief Brinson would like to thank officers with the Bacon County Sheriff’s Office, Georgia State Patrol, and Alma-Bacon County Crime Suppression Unit, for their assistance. Good job working together to apprehend Sailem and Wade with no serious injuries to anyone involved in the incident and keeping these drugs off the streets of City of Alma and Bacon County.
