The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the selection of ten outstanding students, aged 16-19, from the Coffee County area to represent the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Authority throughout the 2023-2024 school year. These young leaders were carefully chosen for their dedication and commitment to community and economic development.
The selected students are as follows:
Gabrielle Burns - Citizens Christian Academy
Keasia Gaskin - Coffee High School
Addy Harris - Citizens Christian Academy
Aniyah Howard - Coffee High School
Rhianna Lewis - Coffee High School
London O'Steen - Citizens Christian Academy
Dhroom Patel - Coffee High School
Grayson Rockett - Coffee High School
Harrison Russ - Citizens Christian Academy
Emma Wilkerson - South Georgia State College
The Chamber Student Ambassadors program is an exclusive opportunity for these young individuals to enhance their educational experience by immersing themselves in community and economic development through specialized training and activities provided by the Chamber of Commerce.
Throughout the year, these Student Ambassadors will collaborate closely with professionals from the Coffee County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Authority, actively participating in events, attending meetings, training sessions, and ribbon-cutting ceremonies. Their contributions to the community will be rewarded based on a point system, and those who successfully complete the required activities will receive award recognition, a certificate of achievement, and a recommendation letter at the end of the school year.
At their inaugural meeting, the Student Ambassadors were asked to describe Coffee County in one word. The words they collectively chose represent the essence of the community: "Growing," "Community," "Small," "Development," "Farming," "Trojans," "Hot," "Booming," "Agriculture," "Home," "Coffee," "Gem," and "Together."
The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce is excited to have these exceptional students as ambassadors for the 2023-2024 school year and looks forward to their valuable contributions in making Coffee County an even better place to live and do business.
