Elections board certifies municipal election results, sends final numbers to Secretary of State

At Tuesday morning's meeting of the Coffee County Board of Elections and Registration, Christy Nipper, elections supervisor, announced the certification of last week's municipal election.
With all provisional ballots counted and recorded, the final numbers were as follows:
Broxton mayor: Jimmy Littleton (incubment) -- 138, Carlos Wilkerson, 80 (36.76 percent turnout)
Broxton city council: Helen S. Jones (incumbent) -- 166, Ruth Christian (incumbent) -- 150, Greg Zachery -- 145, Bill Whiddon (incumbent) -- 121, and Wanda Kirschbaum -- 108 (36.76 turnout). The top four make up the city council.
Douglas city commission Ward 3: Tony Paulk II -- 180, Gregory Batts Jr. -- 107 (27.2 percent turnout)
Coffee County eSPLOST: Yes -- 1,314; No -- 397 (8 percent turnout)
The certified results have been sent to the Secretary of State's office.
