Sheriff announces drug arrests

The Coffee County Drug Unit (CCDU) announces the following, recent drug-related arrests:

 

Feb. 23 – The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Stephanie Rouis for failing to dim headlights. A passenger in the vehicle, Joshua Heath, was wanted on an active warrant through the Douglas Police Dept. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and suspected heroin and suspected methamphetamine were located. Both individuals were arrested, and Rouis was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of methamphetamine. Heath was charged with possession of methamphetamine.

 

Feb. 23 – The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Ellars Manning Sr. for having an inoperable headlight. A search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of suspected methamphetamine. Manning was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine.

 

March 1 – The CCDU observed a vehicle in the Oak Park community that had been reported stolen from the State of Florida. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle. One occupant, Carlos Gomez, was placed under arrest for an outstanding probation violation warrant, and the case was turned over to Coffee County detectives for further investigation.

 

March 1 – A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Roberto Barrera Carrillo for failing to maintain lane its lane of travel.  At that time, Carrillo was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine. A subsequent search warrant was served on Carrillo’s residence, and an additional quantity of suspected methamphetamine, along with a firearm, were located. Carrillo was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

 

March 3 – The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Marissa Sacks for an inoperable break light. A search of the vehicle was conducted, and suspected MDMA, suspected methamphetamine, and suspected marijuana were located. Sacks was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of marijuana.

 

March 4 – The CCDU conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Aaron Bennett for failing to stop at a stop sign. Bennett was found to be in possession of suspected controlled substances and was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance.
