Mrs. Dessie Mae Chaney Stokes, age 90, of Douglas passed away Sunday, August 16, 2015, at the residence of her son, Verlon Wendell Grantham, following an extended illness.

Survivors include: 1 Son: Verlon Wendell (Linda) Grantham of Douglas, Ga.; 2 Sisters: Myrtle Burris of Waycross, Ga., and Dene Butler of Warner Robins, Ga.; 1 Brother: Edward Chaney of Blackshear, Ga.; 4 Grandchildren, 2 Step-Grandchildren, and 14 Great Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.

Funeral Services will be Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 2:00 P. M., at the West Ward Street Church of God, with Rev. Britt Peavy officiating. The Interment will follow in the Douglas City Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P. M., at Ricketson Funeral Home.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the Arrangements.
