Eddie Mae Bayard, age 70 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Bayard was born December 2, 1943, in Axson to the late Hiram Davis and Sally Rachael Hartley Davis.

Survivors include her son, Randal Davis of Nicholls; brother, James Davis of Douglas; seven grandchildren, Nikkie Davis of Nicholls, Devin Davis of Nicholls, Benjamin Davis of Pearson, Kevin Davis of Axson, D.J. Pitman of Waycross, Scott Pitman of Waycross, and Roy Pitman of Waycross; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Annie Mae Pitman, and a sister, Jeanette Fussell.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 5, 2014, from 6-9 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Lang Country Church, with Rev. Clyde Purvis and Rev. Austin Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Lang Country Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are David Zanders, Matthew Nix, Devin Davis, Scott Pitman, Jeffery Davis, Trey Chauncey, Mitchell Chauncey, and D.J. Pitman. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Pitman and Benjamin Davis.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
