Mr. John Aubrey Cumbass, age 78, of Douglas passed away Thursday afternoon, May 10, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born June 18, 1939 to the late Pearlie Cumbass and the late Missouri Ricketson Cumbass. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by: 3 brothers: Clyde Cumbass, Owen Cumbass and Joseph Cumbass.

Mr. Cumbass, a native of Coffee County, was a prominent farmer and raising livestock.

He attended Calvary Mission Holiness Baptist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Ethamae Carter Cumbass of Douglas, GA.; sons: Glenn Cumbass and Gary Cumbass, both of Douglas, GA.; grandchildren: Jessica Rushing of Baxley, GA, and Brandon Cumbass of St. Simons Island, GA.; great grandchildren: Baleigh Grace Rushing, Matthew Noah Rushing and Katelyn Hope Rushing, all of Baxley, Ga.; sister, Glinis Carver of Douglas, GA.; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The Funeral Service was held Saturday, May 12, 2018, at 1 P. M., at Calvary Mission Holiness Baptist Church where Rev. Gene Chaney officiated. The Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
