Mr. Roy Leston Wooten, age 79 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 14, 2018 at Kindred Hospital of North Florida in Green Cove Springs, Fla., following an extended illness. Mr. Wooten was born January 23, 1939 to the late Claude Wooten and the late Vernie Cliett Wooten. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Allen Wooten; two brothers, William "Bill" Wooten and Marcus Wooten; and three sisters, Roxie Smith, Claudie Yawn and Shirley Dice. 

Mr. Wooten, a native of Coffee County, retired from Container Corp of America as a millworker supervisor in Fernandina Beach, Fla. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Knight Wooten of Douglas; children Harold Wooten of Brunswick, Teresa W. Martin of Newborn, James D. Wooten of LaGrange, and Joseph Warren Wooten of Orlando, Fla.; sisters: Willene O’Steen of Hiawassee and Lucille Tanner of Broxton; brothers Robert Wooten of Largo, Fla., and Mike Wooten of Eatonton; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, November 17, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Martin and Rev. Floyd Tanner officiating. A eulogy was presented by a granddaughter, Savannah Martin. The interment followed in Oak Grove Cemetery. 

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
