Jacquelyn Wood Baker, age 80, of Broxton, passed away on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital, Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Baker was born on February 12, 1939 in Douglas, the daughter of the late Charles Dewitt Wood and Evelyn Lucille Johnson Wood.

She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church in Douglas.

Survivors include her husband, Charles J. Baker of Broxton; three daughters, Crystal Pelletier (husband Jake) of Stark, N.H., Candace Marie Stephenson of Ashburn, Va., and Cathy Denise Baxley of Douglas; two sons, Chuck Baxley (wife Glenda) of Columbia, Md., and Corey Baker of Douglas; seven grandchildren, Adam Baxley, Andrew Baxley, Skyler Stephenson, Austin Stephenson, Victoria Pelletier, Marcus Pelletier and Jacques Pelletier; four sisters, Montene Knowles of Douglas, Yvonne Johnson of Douglas, Mary Lowe (husband Larry) of Toledo, Ohio, Linda Bursack (husband Jack) of Winfield, Kansas; three brothers, Lynford Wood (wife Lois) of Smyrna, Rev. Darrell Wood (wife Dee) of Valdosta and Rick Wood of Douglas; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday August 19, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Chris Calhoun officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 pm until 9 pm at Sims Funeral Home.

In lieu of flower the family requests memorials to The American Cancer Society PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or cancer.org/givehope.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
