Gloria Christine Stapleton, age 81, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Stapleton was born on March 21, 1933, in Waycross, GA to the late Nolan Jackson McLean and Nora Pricilla Burkett McLean.

Survivors include: her four sons, Horace (Ann) Stapleton of Douglas, GA, Roger Stapleton of Mora, GA, Gary (Darlene) Stapleton of Mora, GA, and Eric (Denton) Stapleton of Douglas, GA; daughter, Mary Noreen Stapleton of Douglas, GA; brother, Gilbert Dee (Reba) McLean of Hilliard, FL; dedicated grandsons, Scott and Ted Perkins; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harley Stapleton and a daughter, Glenda Darlene Dyal.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Central Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Patrick Williams officiating. Eulogy by granddaughter Perin Tumberlin. Music is furnished for the service by CD “Angels In The Room” and Harley Odum “Amazing Grace”. Active Pallbearers are: Scott Perkins, Bobby Taylor, Zim Timberlin, Gary Stapleton, Shane Dyal, and Josh Stapleton. Honorary Pallbearers are: Reed Odum.

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
