Evelyn “Mom” Weniger, age 103, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. Mrs. Weniger was born on January 8, 1917 in Howard, South Dakota the daughter of the late Alfred and Ingeborg Gremertson Jacobsen.

 

Mom Weniger was a homemaker, a 25-year member of Reedy Branch Baptist Church, where she was the organist and a Sunday School teacher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max W. Weniger.

 

Survivors include two sons, Rev. Dennis Weniger (Dale) of Broxton, GA and Dr. Brady Weniger (Gwendolyn) of Woodbridge, VA; daughter, Jan Boettcher (Keith) of Douglas, GA; seven grandchildren, Renee Stone of Phoenix, AZ, Robyn Brannen (Scott) of Chattanooga, TN, Adam Boettcher (Tonya) of Flagstaff, AZ, Trevor Boettcher of Charlotte, NC, Micado Boettcher of Douglas, GA, Brady Weniger Jr (Calli) of Front Royal, VA and Brett Weniger of Yuba City, CA.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 11:00am at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Den Weniger, Dr. Bradley Weniger officiating with Jan Boettcher giving a eulogy. Interment will follow at Reedy Branch Church Cemetery, Broxton, GA. The family will receive friends Wedmesday from 10am until 11am at Sims Funeral Home prior to the service.

 

Musical selection will be provided by Jan Boettcher singing “They Taught Us Early” with Rev. Den Weniger on piano. Rev. Den Weniger will play prelude and postlude music.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing and wear protective masks in accordance with the guidelines concerning the coronavirus.
