Bishop Levi Jones, age 84, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Jones was born on July 2, 1936 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Thomas and Rushie Lee Thompson Jones.

 

Bishop Jones was a Church of God Minister and Bishop for over 40 years and was a member of Harvest Time Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Merrier Jones and a daughter, Connie E. Smith and a brother, Claude Jones.

 

Survivors include daughter, Loretta Courdle of Douglas, GA; three sons, Levi Michael Jones (Donna) of Hilliard, FL, Daniel J. Jones (Leigh) of Warner Robins, GA and Lamar Smith of Douglas, GA; nine grandchildren, George F. Bennett Jr, (Joeline), Nathaniel Bennett (Crystal), Daniel Bennett, Andrew S. Bennett (Keisla), Justin Michael Jones (Terri Lynn), Kayla Vaughn (Zachery), Jessica Leigh Jones, Tanice Griffin (Josh) and Coby Smith; twenty great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 1pm until time of service at 2pm at Harvest Time Church of God.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 2:00pm at Harvest Time Church of God with Rev. Glenn Fussell and Bishop Gary Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Lax Holiness Church Cemetery, Lax, GA. Pallbearers will be George Bennett Sr., Andrew Bennett, Lamar Smith, Daniel Jones, Justin Jones and Tommy Jones.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
