Rev. Joseph Wayne Lee, age 76, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Rev. Lee was born on September 8, 1944 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late John Estelle & Nealie Cole Lee.

 

Rev. Lee was the current pastor of Willacoochee Baptist Church. He was ordained at Dry Creek Baptist Church and had pastored Hebron Baptist Church, Wesley Chapel Baptist Church, Ten Mile Baptist Church and Burkett Baptist Church. He was retired Director of Transportation with the Coffee County School System.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Lee, and a brother, Charles Lee.

 

Survivors include his wife, Linda Head Lee of Nicholls, GA; daughter, Darlene Fesperman of Nicholls, GA; son, Joseph Wayne Lee II of Savannah, GA; brother, Johnny Lee (Linda) of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Angela Gibbs of Nicholls, GA; 7 grandchildren, Jet Lee, Leila Taff (Andrew), Brandon Fesperman, Nikki Davis (Kevin), Johnathon Wright, Annabelle Lee and, Jade Lee; 6 great grandchildren, Simon Davis, Nolan Davis, Sara Taft, Laura Taff, Levi Fesperman and, Serenity Fesperman: several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Monday evening, July 26, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Saginaw Baptist Church with Rev. L.G. Aldridge and Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Pallbearers will be Johnathon Wright, Andrew Taff, Kevin Davis, Jackie Fred Smith, Brandon Fesperman, A. J. Saeed, Rusty Lee and Jet Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be former deacons of this area churches and close friends.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
