Emily Robinson homers twice during busy week for Lady Trojans

The Lady Trojans split 4 games last week with a region win against Wayne mixed in.
On Monday, CHS dropped a game to 7A Tift County 3-0 in a low-scoring game. Emily Elisis and Erin Robinson picked up the only 2 hits for Coffee. Erin Robinson pitched well going 7 innings striking out 7. Wednesday Coffee was on the road and outslugged Bacon in a 9-3 win. Erin Robinson and Lacey Stone had 3 hits each while Hannah Capps, Shyanne Jump, and Emily Robinson added 1 apiece. Emily Robinson's hit was a 260-foot homer, her 6th of the year. Emily started and got the win going 5 innings and allowing only 1 earned run. Lacey Stone recorded a save in 2 innings.
Region 5A opponent Wayne County came to town Thursday and were knocked off 10-6 by the Lady Trojans in front of a large crowd at Faircloth Field. Erin Robinson wint 4 2/3 striking out 6 for the win and again Lacey Stone recorded a save in 2 2/3. Hannah Capps and Emily Elisis pounded out 3 hits each while Kaci Thacker, Hanna Hutchison, and Morgan Adams had 1 each in the win.
The Lady Trojans wrapped up the week with another 7A opponent on the road at Camden County in a low-scoring 2-1 loss. The Wildcats scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to walk it off. Emily Robinson hammered her 7th homer of the year and Jenna Graham and Erin Robinson added a hit each.
"We're playing really well at times and feel as if we are getting stuff ready for the playoffs. These girls are very capable of making a deep run and it should get interesting next week as we have a chance to play for a region title if we handle our business next week," states head coach Stan Hughes.
Warner Robins comes to town Tuesday and region frontrunner Ware visits Thursday.
