Mr. Jackie Morgan, age 73 of Douglas, passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at his residence following an extended illness.

Mr. Morgan was born November 20, 1940, to the late Jacob Ponder Morgan and the late Nellie Burch Morgan. Mr. Morgan, a native of Broxton, Coffee County, had lived in the Douglas area for several years. He was a retired Dredge Captain for about 40 years before his retirement.

Survivors include, his wife of 22 years: Faith Gehron Morgan of Douglas, Ga.; five daughters: Terri Young of Pecan Park, Florida., Jackie Penney Kent of Chatsworth, Ga., Kimberly Dagenais of Blenheim, Ontario, Canada., Dawn Fleming of Yulee, Florida, Lillian Lowery of Wichita, Kansas.; two sons: Alton Morgan of Jackson, Alabama, Albert Morgan of Asheville, North Carolina.; one step-son: T. J. Reynolds of Palm Coast, Florida. eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Several nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives.

Graveside services and interment were held Thursday, June 26, 2014, at 11:00 a. m., at the Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Michael Bass officiating.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
