The City of Douglas is happy to welcome the Guiding Star Cinema production crew for the short film, “The Last Pedestrian.” City officials have worked with the film production team to develop plans to help with traffic in downtown and in other areas of Douglas/Coffee County during filming.
The film crew will be in Douglas filming at Douglas National Bank, Coffee Regional Medical Center, the intersection of Ward and Madison Avenue and a portion of Herbert Batten Road, July 24–26.
“We are asking that citizens be prepared for some road closures/detours and to be more cautious as they make their way through the downtown area and Herbert Batten Road on the days that the production will be filmed,” says Mayor James H. Dennis. “We need to display our best hospitality and make sure we welcome these visitors to our town as they showcase Douglas to the film industry.”
Over the few past years, Georgia has become a preferred location for filmmakers. In 2010, the Georgia Film, Music and Digital Entertainment Office launched the Camera Ready Community program to help communities work with filmmakers. Douglas/Coffee County has been a member of Georgia’s Camera Ready Community since 2010 and our community has hosted a couple of small film productions.
“The Last Pedestrian” will be released Fall, 2015.

I’m so glad this is happening! This is what Douglas needs. Douglas – Coffee County is a wonderful place for film productions. There are a lot of places to film, and it will bring in a lot of business to the city.
