Douglas tennis takes district, state titles

The Douglas Tennis Team just completed district play and continued on to state July 7-8 and July 16-17, coming out on top with 10 championship titles and six runner-up titles in state.

The competitors for Douglas were Cekyria Hodges, Emma Hutto, Kaden Walker, Ansley Ellis, Jarred Gaff, Benjamin Pack, Ted Bagwell, Brady Courson, Kanler Cumbass, Brandon Wiggins, and Jason Tanner.

State winners and runner-up winners competing in Moultrie were 14U boys singles runner up, Ted Bagwell; 14U boys doubles runners-up, Ted Bagwell and Benjamin Pack; 16U boys singles champion, Kanler Cumbass; 16U boys doubles champions, Jason Tanner and Kanler Cumbass; 16U girls singles Champion, Ansley Ellis; 16U girls singles runner-up, Kaden Walker; 16U girls doubles champions, Ansley Ellis and Kaden Walker; 18U boys singles runner-up, Brandon Wiggins; 16U mixed doubles champions, Ansley Ellis and Jason Tanner, and runners-up Kaden Walker and Kanler Cumbass.

Congratulations to our Douglas GRPA Tennis team on a job well done and for their hard work and dedication.
