After months of planning and preparation, the Boys and Girls Club of Coffee County opened its doors last week, and a large mix of community leaders, individuals, and club advocates gathered together Thursday to celebrate the new organization.

The Boys and Girls Club of Coffee County is located at the building formerly occupied by the Douglas Police Department at 210 W. Jackson St.

It mission is “to enable the young people of the Coffee County region, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens by providing a safe, positive place where they can develop self-esteem and the skills they need to succeed.”
