PUBLIC NOTICE

Election Information For General Election

of November 4, 2014

ELECTION DAY:  The general election will be conducted November 4, 2014, from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. All election day polling sites will be open as usual for Douglas, Ambrose, Bridgetown, Broxton, Nicholls and West Green.

LOGIC AND ACCURACY TESTING: Pursuant to SEB Rule 183-1-12.02, testing of voting machines will be conducted at the Elections Office, 224 W. Ashley St., Douglas, GA. The time of this testing will begin Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 9 a.m., and continue until complete.

ADVANCE VOTING: The Elections Office, 224 W. Ashley St., Douglas, GA, starting at 8:30 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, and ending on Friday, October 31, 2014, at 5 p.m. The Elections Office will also be open Saturday, Oct. 25, from 9am – 4pm for advance voting.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  The last day to register or change voter information for the November 4, 2014, General Election is October 6, 2014.

VOTING BY MAIL: The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, at 4 p.m. Call the Elections Office at 384-7018 if you have questions.

COMPUTATION AND CANVASSING OF ELECTION RETURNS: Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 21-2-492, computation and canvassing of the General Election returns will begin on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at 7 p.m. at the Elections Office, 224 West Ashley St., Douglas, GA, and will be certified by Friday, November 7, 2014.

Should a STATE General Election Runoff be necessary, it will be conducted December 2, 2014 from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Should a FEDERAL Runoff be necessary, it will be conducted January 6, 2015. All Coffee County precincts will be open.
