The annual Hometown Harvest will take place on Thursday, October 30, from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the vacant lot adjacent to city hall, which is located on Madison Avenue.

The kids play area will be from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with candy distribution taking place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Registration for the kids costume contest will begin at 4 p.m. and end promptly at 5:30 p.m.

The costume contest will begin at 6:15 p.m., with winners being announced at 7:30 p.m. The age limit for those participating in trick-or-treating and costume contest is 12 years of age and under. Participation for the costume contest will be free of charge. For a small fee, kids can also enjoy a pony ride and kiddie train rides.

“We are looking for another great year for this event,” says Pattie Merritt, MainStreet Coordinator. “It is a pleasure to provide a safe and fun atmosphere for kids to trick or treat.”

For more information on the event or to be a vendor, please call (912) 384-5161.
