Abby Cuneo (Blackshear, Ga.), a freshman soccer player for the South Georgia State College Lady Hawks, has been named Honorable Mention All-America following SGSC’s second place finish in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association.

As a freshman during the fall 2014 season, Cuneo helped her team to 10 wins, with only five losses and one tie. The Lady Hawks reached the semifinals, then advanced to the semifinals where they lost to Darton State College. Cuneo finished the season with 10 goals (second on the team), six assists, and 26 total points. She started 14 of the Lady Hawks’ 16 games.

Being named to the All-American Team is a privilege only 33 women in the nation can brag about. Head coach Ben Horner said, “We congratulate her for being named to the All-American team. Not only is Abby a great athlete, she’s a great student and team member as well. The team is extremely proud to call her one of our own.”

The second-place finish in the region was the first for the Lady Hawks soccer program
