Mr. James Larry “JL” Burkett

Mr. James Larry “JL” Burkett, age 67, of Trenton, FL passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Ayers Nursing and Rehab Center in Trenton, FL, with his family at his side. “JL” was born on May 1, 1947 in Douglas, GA to the late Archie and Vera Roberts Burkett and moved to Florida many years ago. Mr. Burkett was a heavy equipment operator and a proud veteran of the US Army, serving during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kristi Burkett and Meghan (Jay) Bolton and their mother, Kim Burkett of Bronson, brother Raymond Burkett of Jasper, FL, sisters: Betty Taylor of West Green , GA, Debbie Roberts Moore of Phoenix, AZ and Trina Taylor of Alma, GA, two grandchildren, serveral nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 5, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM at Sims Funeral Home.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 11 AM at the Burkett Baptist Church Cemetery at West Green, GA with Rev. Joe Lee officiating.

Sims Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
