On January 15, Westside Elementary hosted a school-wide spelling bee featuring homeroom spelling bee winners in grades four and five.  All participants were presented with certificates in recognition of their hard work in preparation for the contest.

Pictured above, the following students participated in the spelling bee: Back Row (Left to Right): Keller Phillips, Nash Harper, Kenzi Williams, Hannah Klein, Rylee Burke, Jaliyah Jones, and Cailey Martinez.  Front Row (Left to Right):  Ashton Hamilton, Kaniyah Lawson, Ishika Sadarangani, Shanna Swails, Kylie Childers, Carson Neeley, Laney Childers, Shaniya Stackhouse, and  Zanarrea Clark.

Congratulations to the following spelling bee winners pictured below:  1st place, Nash Harper; 2nd place, Zanarrea Clark; 3rd place, Cailey Martinez ; 4th place alternate, Keller Phillips .

These students will move on to compete in the county-wide spelling bee that will be held on February 6.  Special thanks to former Westside counselor Wil Waters for serving as the pronouncer, and to Lora Riner, Lisa Spivey, and Sabrina Rhodes for judging the spelling bee.
