Mrs. Edwina Vickers Carver, age 84, of Douglas, GA passed away at Shady Acres Nursing Home on Saturday, January 31, 2015 after an extended illness. She was born May 5, 1930 in Ocilla, GA to the late Daniel Vickers and Mamie Paulk Vickers.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Carver Phillips of Douglas, GA; two sons, Stanley (Lawana) Carver of Douglas, GA and Mark (Tammy) Carver of Wray, GA; seven grandchildren, Heather Tanner Ross, Jennifer Tanner Burch, Jamie Tanner, Jason Carver, Brandon Carver, Cory Carver, and Drew Carver; three great grandchildren, Evan Ross, Garrett Burch and Tanner Ross. She was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Carver, her daughter, Vicki Carver Tanner, four brothers and five sisters.

The Carver family will receive friends and loved ones on Monday, February 2, 2015 from 6 to 9 PM at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held, Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 2:00 PM at St. Illa Baptist Church with Rev. Elisha Purvis, Jr. and Frank Littleton officiating. Interment will follow in St. Illa Church Cemetery, Highway 158 West, Douglas, GA.
