Mr. Anthony Purvis, age 45, of Douglas passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 3, 2015, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born November 11, 1969 to the late Joe Bethel Purvis and Nellie Ruth Futch Purvis.
Survivors include: His Wife: Teresa Lynn Heaton Purvis of Douglas, Ga.; 1 Daughter: Shannon Angela Purvis of Douglas, Ga.; 1 Son: Dustin Anthony Purvis of Douglas, Ga. ; His Mother: Nellie Ruth Futch Purvis of Douglas, Ga.; 3 Step –Daughters: Candice Harper of Douglas, Ga., Kimberly Harper of Alapaha, Ga., and Julie Drawdy of Enigma, Ga.; 2 Brothers: Dewey Purvis of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ricky Purvis of Douglas, Ga.; 10 Grandchildren. Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and Other Relatives.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, February 8, 2015, at 3:00 P.M., at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Marshall Adcock officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date. The family will be receiving friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M., at Ricketson Funeral Home. Mr. Purvis will be placed in the Church at 2:00 P.M., to lie in state until the funeral hour.
