Oswald “Bud” Lott, age 87, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. Mr. Lott was born on September 13, 1927, in Broxton, GA to the late Donnie Lott and Rachael Merritt Lott.

Mr. Lott was the owner operator of Bud Lott Hardware. Survivors include: his two sons, Donnie (Jerri) Lott of Douglas, GA and Ken (Melissa) Lott of Douglas, GA; four daughters, Angie (Raymond) Carver of Douglas, GA, Vickie (Joe) Pittard of Paducah, KY, Kathy (Aric) Whatley of Woodbridge, VA, and Anna Marie (D L) Cothern of Alma, GA; son-in-law, Lamar Hill of Douglas, GA; sixteen grandchildren, Chris (Stacey) Hill, Erin (Kaalan) Grantham, Michael (Tara) Carver, Ellie Carver, Max Pittard, Charlie Pittard, Grace Pittard, Slade Lott, Jessica Flowers, Nick Whatley, Julia Whatley, Alex Whatley, Wesley Cothern, Brady Cothern, Graham Lott, and Kolton Lott; four great grandchildren, Ariel Hill, Abbie Grace Hill, Jacob Grantham, Mason Grantham; three sisters, Rhoda Hunter, of Douglas, GA, Bonnie Thompson, of Douglas, GA, and Marie Lewis of Villa Rica, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by a his wife, Evelyn Fussell Lott; daughter, Cheryl Hill; granddaughter, Rachel Carver; one sister, Mary Trobaugh; and three brothers, Alfred Lott, M J Lott, and Johnny Lott.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11 :00 a.m. at St Paul’s Catholic Church with Father Paul O’Connell officiating. Active pallbearers are: Chris Hill, Michael Carver, Max Pittard, Charlie Pittard, Slade Lott, Nick Whatley, Alex Whatley, Wesley Cothern, and Brady Cothern. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, c/o Mrs. DB Morris 5400 Antioch Church Rd., Pearson, GA 31642 or Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, in memory of Oswald Lott, 1801 Willamette Street, Suite 200, Eugene, OR 97401.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
