The Best Trucking Schools.com has ranked Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s commercial truck driving program as one of the best in the state of Georgia.  The site ranks truck driving schools across the nation and provides information about each school including: programs available; nationwide, regional, and state rankings; campus safety ratings; and lists of competitors.

Wiregrass’ commercial truck driving program was ranked 5th in the state of Georgia, 23rd in the South, and 71st in the nation.

“Wiregrass is extremely proud to have been named one of the top commercial truck driving schools in Georgia as well as the nation,” shared Dr. Jammie Wilbanks, Dean of Professional Services.  “Our instructors are experienced and take great pride in their instruction and working with students.”

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College offers commercial truck driving at two of the college’s campuses, Valdosta and Coffee.  Commercial truck driving is one of the programs the Governor has placed under the Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant (SIWDG).  Students who are receiving the HOPE Grant may also be eligible for additional financial assistance from the SIWDG award.

Wiregrass is accepting new students currently for Spring Semester’s B-term, which starts March 9. Wiregrass has a job placement rate of 92% in field placement for FY 2013 and a 100% for total placement in finding a job.  According to payscale.com the average salary for drivers with their CDL and who are truck drivers is $76,000 for the state of Georgia.

For more information about this program and others, visit wiregrass.edu. or call (229) 333-2100.
