The chamber of commerce is hosting an information session featuring chamber travel opportunities for 2015 on Monday, March 16, at noon at the chamber office.

Bring a sack lunch and enjoy the presentation as we learn about two trips offered by the chamber in 2015. The first is an October trip to Switzerland, Austria and Bavaria and the second is a November trip to the Tuscany region of Italy.

The Switzerland trip is planned for October 21-30, 2015. The ten-day trip includes 12 meals (eight breakfasts and four dinners).  The tour begins in Switzerland’s capital city of Bern. You will travel along the shores of Lake Geneva to the legendary medieval Chateau de Chillon and take the GoldenPass Panoramic Train from Montreux to Gstaad.  Then travel to Lucerne, the “Swiss Paradise on the Lake.”  In route to Innsbruck, you will make your way through Liechtenstein, the smallest and richest German-speaking country in the world and the only country to lie entirely within the Alps. Then travel across the picturesque Austrian countryside to Salzburg and enjoy dinner at the 1200-year-old St. Peter’s Restaurant, the oldest in Austria and still owned by the Monks.  You will enjoy a free day in Innsbruck, a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, and a visit to the picturesque village of Oberammergau, and a Tyrolean folklore show.

The Tuscany trip is November 5-14, 2015. The ten-day trip includes 13 meals (eight breakfasts and five dinners). The tour begins in Rome and travels to Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis. It then travels to Siena, home of the famous Palio horse race. San Gimignano, home to legendary Medieval towers, is the next stop before you visit the birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence, where you will see the famous David sculpture by Michelangelo as well as many pieces of well-known Renaissance art.  The main hotel for you trip is located in the famous spa resort town of Montecatini Terme, A trip to a Chianti vineyard where wine and olive oil are made is also included. There are also optional additional excursions to Pisa and Lucca as well as an authentic Italian cooking class.

Round-trip airfare from Jacksonville International Airport is included in the cost of the trips.  Book one of the 2015 trips now for a $250 discount per person.

For more information contact Andrea Taylor at the Chamber at (912) 384-1873 or Denise Craft at Bee Gee Travel Agency at (912) 384-2223.
