Wiregrass Tech offers free application day

Wiregrass Georgia Technical College will be hosting “Free Application Day” April 2 from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.   

Students may apply for Summer Semester on April 2 and have their application fee waived.  Summer Semester will begin May 18, 2015.  The 12-week semester will finish up August 4. For those who have some college credits, but were not able to finish college, Free Application Day would be a great time to come talk with admissions counselors and learn about the Go Back, Move Ahead Campaign.

Wiregrass offers over 100 programs including associate degrees and distance learning options. On Free Application Day, instructors will be available to answer questions and give tours of their program areas so candidates can learn first-hand about the programs they are interested.

There are many options for financial aid including the Strategic Industries Workforce Development Grant (SIWDG).  Students who are receiving the HOPE Grant may also be eligible for additional financial assistance from the SIWDG Award for the following programs: Commercial Truck Driving, Early Childhood Care/Education, Early Childhood Care & Education Diploma, Healthcare Technologies, Computed Tomography Specialist Certificate, Health Information Coding Diploma, Medical Language Specialist Certificate (high school only), Pharmacy Technology Diploma, Phlebotomy Technician Certificate, Surgical Technology Diploma, Information Technology, Computer Programming Diploma, Information Security Specialist Certificate, Information Security Specialist Diploma, Internet Specialist-Web Site Design Diploma, Networking Specialist Diploma, Practical Nursing, Practical Nursing Diploma, Welding, Advanced Shielded Metal Arc Welder Certificate, Gas Tungsten Arc Welder Certificate, and Welding and Joining Technology Diploma.

The Financial Aid offices will be available to talk with those interested about their options for financial aid.

To have your application fee waived, you must come to one of our campuses on April 2.  You will need to bring a copy of your Georgia Driver’s License and an official high school/GED/college transcripts.
