Florence Lastinger, age 97, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA following a brief illness. Mrs. Lastinger was born on October 26, 1917, in Pearson, GA to the late Thomas McCall Smith and Mary Corbitt Smith.

Survivors include: her three daughters, Jackie Wilson of Douglas, GA, Tommie (Carrol) Dukes of Bogart, GA, and Theresa Jeanette “Jan” Lastinger of Douglas, GA; two sons, Danny L. (Rose) Lastinger of Perry, FL and Sammy (Mary) Lastinger of Douglas, GA; seventeen grandchildren; thrity-six great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Seaborn B. Lastinger and a brother, Thomas Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Shep Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
