Mrs. Lorraine Dermott Adams, age 86, formerly of Douglas, passed away on April 18, 2015 in Muncie, Indiana following an extended illness. She was born on December 4, 1928, the youngest child of Herbert and Westanna McDowell Dermott. Lorraine grew up in Douglas and graduated from Douglas High School in 1946.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harvey, her older son, Van, three siblings: Hazel, Wallace and Herman Dermott, sister-in-law, Grace Dermott, and best friend Vera Lee Turner. She is survived by her younger son, Al (wife, Beth Griffith Adams), her grandson, Donny (wife, Libby Warrner Adams), and Ted G. Adams, her granddaughter, Candice Adams Bruno (husband, Joe Bruno), her niece, Becky Dermott Watson (husband, Roy Watson), and her former daughter-in-law, Ann (Adams) Nussbaum.

Calling hours will be held at Sims Funeral Home on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church on Saturday, April 25, at 2:00 o’clock, Pastor Shep Johnson, officiating, with interment following at the City of Douglas Cemetery.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
