In remembrance of our fallen soldiers on Memorial Day, sixth graders at Coffee Middle School wrote friendly letters to men and women who serve in the United States Armed Forces.

Last week, a uniformed soldier delivered a package of letters to Mrs. Adams’ English Language Arts students, and every letter had been answered. The students couldn’t believe a real-life soldier wrote to them about their military experiences: “amazing, thoughtful, awesome,” and even a few tears, were some of the students’ reactions.

Mrs. Adams’ students want the community to know that every letter they received mentioned how thankful soldiers are for students taking the time to write, holding down the home-front, and keeping them in our thoughts and prayers.

A huge thank you goes to SFC Lafayette Deal for getting our letters into the hands of our soldiers.
