After a short closure, Roundtree Park is being reopened by the City of Douglas. City of Douglas staff have repaired and made upgrades to amenities located in the park, which should make it more accessible and safe for citizens to enjoy.

“Our priority is making our citizens feel safe while enjoying the park,” says City Manager Terrell Jacbos. “Repairs were made to correct some safety violations and concerns expressed by the community. We want to thank the citizens for their patience while the park was closed and the emergency repairs were completed.”

At Roundtree Park, citizens may enjoy the playground equipment, basketball courts, baseball field, and, beginning on Tuesday, May 26, the splash pad will re-open.

The repairs to the tennis courts at Roundtree Park, as well as other parks in the city, will also be completed as soon as possible.

For more information about Roundtree Park and the other City of Douglas neighborhood parks, please call the recreation department at (912) 384-5978.
