Doris Hersey, age 86, of Douglas, GA passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2015, at Shady Acres Health and Rehabilitation following an extended illness. Mrs. Hersey was born on March 4, 1929.
Survivors include: her two daughters, Patricia (Larry) Gladden of Fitzgerald, GA and Barbara Porter of Katy, TX; sister, Myrtle Zimmerman of Grand Haven, MI; four grandchildren, Jessica Little, Justin Gladden, Patrick Porter, and Sharon Sermons; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fernell Hersey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Leroy Spivey officiating. Interment will follow at Roxie Mae Church Cemetery.
