Earline Burkhalter, age 83, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at South Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Burkhalter was born on January 26, 1932, in Douglas, GA to the late Lonnie Kitchens and Viola Smoak Kitchens.
Survivors include: her daughter, Sandy Patton of St. Augustine, FL; son, Larry (Betty) Burkhalter of Byron, GA formerly of Douglas, GA; four grandchildren, Angela Marie Evers, Billy Ray Evers, Jr., Larry Wesley Burkhalter, and Brandy D. Burkhalter; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harl W. Burkhalter; three sisters, Clara Davis, Bonnie Jarrard, and Louise Mancil; and a brother, Bernard Kitchens.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Sherry Walls officiating. Interment follow at Douglas City Cemetery.
