Oren Edgar Lee, Sr, age 83, of Douglas, GA passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Lee was born on November 19, 1931, in Douglas, GA to the late Oliver Lee and Olie Ruth Spivey Lee.

Mr. Lee was a veteran of Korean War and Vietnam Conflict having served in the US Air Force. He retired from the Air Force after serving 21 years.

Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Lee of Douglas, GA; daughter, Melody Lee (James) King of Brunswick, GA; four grandchildren, Carrie Pinter, Tava Clark, Oren Deven Lee, and Abby Kara Lee; three great grandchildren, Caroline Cason, Will Pinter, and Cadence Cassette; stepbrother, Winston Harper; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his two sons, Oren Edgar Lee, Jr. and David Arnold Lee.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Carroll Carver officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Church Cemetery. Personnel from Moody Air Force Base will perform military honors.

Sims Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
