Mrs. Janette Miller Courson, age 67, of Douglas, GA passed away at her home on Sunday, July 19, 2015 following a brief illness. She was born on November 14, 1947 in Broxton, GA to the late Joe Barney Miller and Betty Lee Hilliard Miller. She was preceded in death by a son, Barnaby Roe Courson.

She is survived by her husband: Ronnie Wayne Courson, SR of Douglas, GA; one son Ronnie Wayne Courson, Jr of Douglas, GA and one daughter: Amber Lee Thrift of Nicholls, GA; two sisters: Patsy Jo Minix of Douglas, GA and Jean Carol Roundtree of Patterson, GA; three grand children: Daniel Courson, Dakota Thrift and Abigail Thrift and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Douglas, GA with the Rev. Chip Woodruff officiating. Music will be furnished by Cori Peterson, she will be singing “Amazing Grace” Active pallbearers will be Nolan Courson, Shyea Courson, Billy Joe Courson, Kent Belcher, Randall Peterson and Brent Minix. Honorary pallbearer will be Jay Brooker.

Sims Funeral home will be in charge of arrangements.
