Registration will  begin for  the  52nd Annual  Festival  of  Lights  Christmas  Parade on August 17.   The parade theme is “Santa’s Workshop.” The annual Festival of Lights Parade will  light  up  Peterson  Avenue on  Saturday,  December  5  at  6:30pm,  as  it makes its  way from the courthouse to the Career Academy.

“We chose a theme this year with hopes to see all the different ways people may envision ‘Santa’s Workshop,’ says  Georgia  Henderson, Public  Information Director. “Entries can build floats based upon the hustle and bustle of elves building toys or they can build floats based on love, hope, compassion and charity, all of which are God given gifts to mankind.”

Registration  forms  and  rules  can  be  picked up beginning  August  17 at  the public information department office located at the visitor information center at 211 S. Gaskin Avenue.

For more information about the Festival of Lights Christmas Parade, call (912) 383-0277or visit  www.cityofdouglas.com/Parade.
