Rachel Pace from Coffee Middle was named the new county-wide 2015-2016 Teacher of the Year Tuesday during the school system’s annual convocation ceremonies.
Entering her 10th year with the school district, Mrs. Pace is a 1999 graduate of Coffee High School. She attended South Georgia State College, earning her Associate of Science in Education. Her undergraduate degree in Middle Grades Education was received at Valdosta State University, as well as her Educational Specialist Degree in Accomplished and Exemplary Teaching. Mrs. Pace also holds a Master’s of Science in Post-Secondary Education from Troy State University.
Mrs. Pace began teaching with the school system in December 2005 after completing her student teaching on the former campus of West Coffee Middle School. Primarily teaching language arts, Mrs. Pace worked for two years on the campus of Broxton Mary-Hayes Elementary in the 5th Grade.
