Free workshop and hunter’s safety course to be offered at the South Georgia Outdoor Expo

A free workshop titled “Okefenokee Swamp and South Georgia River Fishing” will be offered by Georgia DNR Fisheries Biologist Bert Deener.  The workshop will be held Friday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m.in the Dogwood Room at the Central Square Complex.

The Hunter Safety Education Refresher class will be offered from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, August 22, in the Weir Center, located inside Central Square Complex.  Participants will need to have completed the online course in order to take the test on this date.

The 5th Annual South Georgia Outdoor Expo will be held at Central Square Complex, 200 S. Madison Avenue, Aug. 21 and 22.  Doors will open to the public on Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Gate admission is $5 / kids 12 & under free.
