Satilla Library offers numerous children’s/young adults programs during September

Satilla Regional Library will be holding the following programs during the month of September for children and teens. Come and join the fun at Satilla Regional Library!

Special Annual Event: Seventh Annual Bookmark Art Contest

The seventh annual bookmark art contest for grade categories: 3-4, 5-6, 7-9, and 10-12 with the theme, “Why Reading Is Fun!” starts Tuesday, September 8 and goes through Friday, October 2, 2015. Visit any Satilla Regional Library branch in Douglas, Broxton, Ambrose, Nicholls, Pearson, or Willacoochee to pick up an entry form, visit our website, www.srlsys.org to print out an entry form, or pick one up at your school. These must be returned by the contestant IN PERSON to any Satilla Regional Library branch to qualify by Friday, October 2, 2015.

Winners will receive a Wal-mart gift card, copies of their bookmarks, and a framed certificate. Each winner will have copies of their bookmarks displayed at each Satilla Regional Library branch in their county and will be distributed to the public.

Audio Spot Auditions for Children and Teens Ages 9-18 years

Come and audition for a public service announcement to possibly be played on the radio! Auditions will be held at all locations in Douglas, Broxton, Ambrose, Pearson, Willacoochee, and Nicholls throughout the month of August. Please call Miss Julie at (912) 384-4667 ext. 222 to schedule an appointment at any of our locations.

Story and Craft Program at all locations every week…

Douglas: Monday, September 14, 21, and 28 at 3:30 p.m.
Broxton: Tuesday, September 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 3:30 p.m.
Ambrose: Tuesday, September 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 4:45 p.m.
Pearson: Wednesday, September 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 3:30 p.m.
Willacoochee: Wednesday, September 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30 at 4:45 p.m.
Nicholls: Thursday, September 3, 10, 17, and 24 at 3:30 p.m.

Family Saturday Movie in Douglas

Come and enjoy a family movie on our new wide screen television with your family in the Large Meeting Room in Douglas. Popcorn and beverages will be served.

Family Saturday Movies will be held Saturday, September 12 and 26 at 12 p.m. at the Douglas-Coffee County Public Library.

Kids Choice Movies

Come and vote on a movie of choice, popcorn and beverages will be served.

Pearson: Friday, September 4 at 4:30 p.m.
Willacoochee: Saturday, September 5 and 19 at 12:30 p.m.
Friday, September 11, 2015 at 4:30 p.m.

Broxton: Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Pearson: Friday, September 18, 2015 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Monday, September 21, 2015 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Willacoochee: Friday, September 25, 2015 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
Monday, September 28, 2015 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

Teen Events

Teen Advisory Board Meeting at the Douglas-Coffee County Public Library
Saturday, September 12 and 26 at 1:30 p.m.
Please come and join the fun as teens meet together to help plan young adult programming  for the fall and holidays, help order young adult books for the library’s collection, play teen games, and lots of fun!!  Earn volunteer hours! Refreshments will be served.

Willacoochee: Thursday, September 24, 2015 from 4:30-5:30 p.m.
