Master Sargent Dillard Radford “JACK” Bray, Jr. age 85, of Douglas, GA passed away at his home on Friday, September 4, 2015 after an extended illness. Mr. Bray was born on September 5, 1929 in Douglas, GA to the late Dillard Radford Bray, SR and Mildred Lee O’Steen Bray. Mr. Bray was an active church member at Harrell Grove Baptist Church. Retiring as Master SGT with the U S Army serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era.

Survivors include his wife: Carolyn Harper Bray of Douglas, GA; three daughters: Gay McGovern of Douglas, GA; Sandy Dockery of Ambrose, GA and Kim Hatcher of Douglas, GA; two sisters: Grace Mills of Brunswick, GA and Cora Lee Oppenhiemer of Riverdale, NY; Six grandchildren: Brann Dockery of Ambrose, GA; Lee McGovern and Logan McGovern both of Douglas, GA; Jared Buchan of Thomasville, GA, Jordan Buchan of Douglas, GA and Easton Hatcher of Douglas, GA. He was preceded in death by his brother: Donald Bray.

The Bray Family will receive visitors and friends on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Bray will be held Monday, September 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Harrell Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Stone officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery with full Military Honors.

Sims Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
