Sarah Brown is a member of the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is the Marketing Committee Chair for the 2014-2015 term.  Sarah is married to Jason Brown, who is employed by Wal-Mart Transportation here in Douglas, Ga. They have two children: Weston – 8 and Emelia Jane- 6. Both children attend Eastside Elementary, the same school Sarah attended growing up.

Born and raised in Douglas, Sarah left briefly after high school, living in both Athens and Statesboro before returning with a BA in Marketing from Georgia Southern University. Sarah always knew that Douglas was where she wanted to return to begin her career and grow her family.

In 2003, she began her career with OnMedia, working there for eight years where she had a successful career in television advertising. In 2011, an opportunity presented itself with First National Bank of Coffee County (FNBCC). FNBCC is a locally-owned and operated community bank here in Douglas. Sarah was hired as the marketing officer for the bank and, shortly thereafter, she transitioned into mortgage lending, her current position at FNBCC. She specializes in new home construction, purchase, refinance, and home equity lines of credit. Sarah enjoys working one on one with customers, assisting them in getting their finances in order and realizing their dreams of home ownership. Some call Sarah frugal, which she does not deny, because she considers that a strength when helping her customers and in her personal life.

Sarah and her family enjoy traveling to their favorite place on earth, Amelia Island, Florida. She enjoys looking for shark teeth along the beaches and has accumulated quite a collection from her beach visits throughout Florida. Over the past 10 years, Sarah and Jason have also done some real estate investing locally and have remodeled and built several homes. A couple of those were done with friends and family, which made it possible with full-time work schedules.

Spare time is not a common word with active children, but when there is that time with nothing else to do Sarah enjoys being with family and friends, traveling, and of course shopping. It was mentioned that she was frugal, but she considers bargain shopping the best kind.

Sarah is very involved in the community and has served on many community and civic boards through leadership and volunteer hours. Currently, Sarah is a member of the Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the South Georgia College Foundation Board, and the Douglas Rotary Club. She recently graduated from the Georgia Academy for Economic Development. Sarah is also a member of the local Beta Sigma Phi, Kappa Beta Chapter, and assists with the Eastside Elementary PTO.

Sarah looks forward to Coffee County’s continued growth and is excited to be a part of that growth through her service to the community as well as with First National Bank of Coffee County. She understands that this community’s growth will directly correlate with the community’s efforts for growth. She encourages everyone to passionately participate in a group or organization that supports something you believe in. That passion is what will continue to grow Douglas-Coffee County.
