Ms. Linda Fern Ray Ellis, age 72, of Douglas passed away Wednesday evening, October 7, 2015, at the Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness. She was born April 24, 1943 to the late Lonnie Escol Ray and the late Ocie Durrance Ray.

Ms. Ellis, a native of Wayne County, was a retired bookkeeper with Pilgrim Pride. She had previously been an employee of TG&Y. She was also preceded in death by a Sister, Lucille Rooks. Ms. Ellis was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church. Survivors include: 2 Daughters: Penny (Stephen) Adams ; and Debbie (Mike) Sears, all of Douglas, Ga.; Fiancee: Asbury “Bill” Waldron of Douglas, Ga.; 6 Grandchildren: Bradley Adams, Brandon Adams, Brittany A. Fussell, Michael Sears, Matthew Sears, and Melanna Sears, all of Douglas, Ga.; 1 Sister: Sandra Fulgham of Jesup, Ga.; 3 Brothers: Donald Ray of Mobile, Alabama ; David Ray of Charleston, South Carolina ; and Rev. Larry Ray of Waycross, Ga.; Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Other Relatives.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 1:00 P. M., at the Eastside Baptist Church, with Dr. John Dobbins, and Rev. Larry Ray officiating. The Interment followed in the Douglas City Cemetery. Active Pallbearers were: Ashley Waldron, Bradley Adams, Brandon Adams, Michael Sears, Matthew Sears, and Rhett Fussell. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Ladies Adult Sunday School Class of Eastside Baptist Church. A Special Musical Selection, “It Is Well”, was presented by the Soloist, Beth Greene, with Randy Braswell at the Piano. “Pre-Lude” and “Post-Lude” soft hymns were rendered by the Pianist, Randy Braswell.

Ricketson Funeral Home was in charge of the Arrangements.
