Mrs. Hazel Joiner Whitehead, age 78, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Whitehead was born on April 24, 1937 in McRae, GA to the late Bill Joiner and Mattie Roberson Joiner.

Survivors include her husband: Lamar Whitehead, Douglas, GA. Three daughters: Susan Gail (Terry) Barber of Douglas, GA; Linda (Michael) Bolt of Irwinville, GA; Gloria (Randy) Crowley of Douglas, GA; Three sons: Gilbert (Tammy) Hurst of Nahunta, GA; Johnny (Bonita) Whitehead of Douglas, GA and Ronnie (Susan) Johnson of Douglas, GA; sixteen grandchildren: Brian Soles, Kevin Soles, Genae Bolt, Kendra Rowell, Matthew Whitehead, Victoria Whitehead, Jason Carver, Darren Smith, Shannon Smith , Kasey Smith, Scott Johnson, Chris Johnson, April Johnson, Michele Hardigree, Stephanie Hill and Steven Hill, and thirty-three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 26, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM At Sims Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First Assembly of God with the Rev. Marshall Adcock and Rev. Gerald Gardner officiating. Interment will follow at Chatterton Church Cemetery.
