Coffee County Sheriff Doyle Wooten released the following information Monday regarding recent drug arrests:

On Dec. 16 at approximately 1:55 p.m., Coffee County K-9 deputies, along with Douglas-Coffee Drug Unit (DCDU) detectives conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Ford Mustang on New Forest Hwy. at Wright Quick Stop for window tint violation.  During the stop, Angela Vickers was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine. Authorities say Vickers had in her possession five packages of methamphetamine that weighed approximately 35 grams. Javarra Vickers was also arrested for possession of synthetic marijuana (two packages), which is a Schedule I controlled substance.

Around 11:35 p.m. the same day, the Georgia State Patrol conducted a traffic stop on Hwy. 221 N. at Spring Oak St. for a tag light requirement infraction. During the traffic stop, the Trooper ran the names of the occupants inside the vehicle, and the passenger, indentified as Kinte, Green had a warrant on him.  A search of Green revealed a small amount of marijuana (less than one ounce) and approximately .5 grams of methamphetamine. The Trooper contacted the DCDU and turned the case over to them. Green was subsequently charged for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of methamphetamine.

On Dec. 28 around 12:45 p.m., the DCDU responded to 214 N. Dewey Ave., Apt. A in Douglas. Upon their arrival they met with officers with the Douglas Police Department who advised they went to serve an arrest warrant on an individual identifed as Brandon Officers located several packages of marijuana sitting on the kitchen counter, and the DPD turned the case over to DCDU.  DCDU collected all of the evidence, and the marijuana weighed approximately 2.47 ounces.  Carter was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

At 8:30 p.m.on Jan. 1, Georgia State Patrol and Coffee County K-9 units observed a white pickup failing to use a turn signal, and a traffic stop was initiated on Warren Carter Road. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jel  Clancey Mizell. Also in the vehicle was another male, Walter Bernard Mizell. During the search of the vehicle, an amount of crack and powder cocaine was found in a pill bottle, along with the narcotic painkiller hydrocodone. Jel Mizel was charged with DUI, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a schedule two controlled substance. Walter Mizell was also charged with open container, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a schedule two controlled substances with intent to distribute.
