Douglas and Coffee County officials were in Atlanta on January 13 for the Annual Okefenokee Occasion. At this annual event, local leaders from 18 counties of the Southern Georgia Regional Commission are given the opportunity to talk with legislators one-on-one about needs in our community.
The purpose of the event is to ensure state leaders are aware of the needs in this region and that they keep these needs in mind when making decisions that impact communities in the region.
