Nothing can compare to a mother’s love and, on January 19, some of our very own Coffee Middle School Trojans honored that statement.
Sedrick Williams and Adrian Wilkerson honored their mothers at their last home game for their mothers’ fight and determination. Sedrick Williams’s mother, Moneriah Sams, has ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. There is currently no cure and, Sedrick says he is “balling for a cure” because one day he would like a cure to be found in honor of his mom.
He states, “I just want her to know I love her.”
Adrian Wilkerson’s mother, Tonya Wilkerson, is known throughout the community for her courageous fight and ongoing support for breast cancer awareness. Much like his team mate, he just wants his mother to know how much he loves and appreciates her.
These young men came to the 7th Grade Administrative Team of Coffee Middle School with a simple request, and it was deemed necessary to invest in their cause. Events such as these provide hope for our students and reflect that our faculty and staff believe in them, and we take a vested interest in their lives in and out of the classroom.
It is truly an honor to have such inspiring young men in our schools and community.
